Julianne Ryan has 10 years’ experience in high performance international sport. She commenced her journey in Irish boxing high performance unit soon after graduating, building her years of experience. She was Physio lead for boxing at Olympic Games in Rio 2016. Soon after, she became a member of the Sport Ireland Institute team, delivering physio support across multiple sports, including Swimming and Diving, Badminton, Modern Pentathlon, Hockey, Women’s Golf and Gymnastics.

Last summer she was key member of Team Ireland Science and Medical team, supporting Gymnastics, Badminton, Diving and Golf at the Tokyo Olympics. The nature of working in the Institute allows for close collaboration across disciplines, leading to best service delivery for Ireland’s Olympians and aspiring Olympians. Part of her role was leading a multi-disciplinary project in Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-s). Julianne also is the Head of Performance Services (HOPS) for Gymnastics Ireland, leading the support team delivery for the
senior elite team. This summer she has been appointed HOPS and physio lead for European Youth Summer Olympic Games.
